Final waltz - Another climax Sunday 8th Feb 2004

To the tip
We left Kampung Bavanggazo after everybody in the village wished us good bye. Before we drove away, Ang Kung gave us a guestbook. I wrote, "5 stars!!!".

"Where will you all be going next?"

"Kudat!!.."

"Oh? Just turn right and drive straight for half an hour and you will be there.."

"Okies!!.."

Dancing at the tip of Borneo
We realized that there was nothing more exciting than a Sugar Bun outlet in Kudat. We circled around town and saw a tiny sign board saying, "The Tip Of Bornoe". That sign took us an hour of off-road driving to the deep kampung of nowhere. Without realizing, we reached another climax of our Sabah trip - The tip of Borneo. The great view of South China Sea was astounding. We witnessed how the sea and the wind merged into gentle waves. The blasting sound of crashing waves creating peaceful tunes triggered a tempo in our heart. As the tempo of we-are-at-the-edge-of-the-world grew stronger, we started pondering.

"Are we in Scotland? -or maybe Australia?"

"No, we are in Sabah...."

Pumping the gas
We dashed our kancil back to Kota Kinabalu, testing the top speed of the mini giant. The miniature performance was impressive, reaching the top of 130km/hour while going thru the highway of paddy fields. We missed Kota Belud Pasar Tamu as it was wayyyyy after-noon.

We pumped our kancil again to Rasa Ria Orang Utan Sanctuary only to realized that it closes daily at 3pm. We were at the door step when the ranger said, "Come back next day. Orang Utan already left..".

Slightly dissapointed, we drove our way back to Kota Kinabalu regardless of the heavy storm.

Back to real life
We returned our good friend kancil at the airport. Shane was at the airport there waiting for us. He came to bid farewell and to pick up our photographs for our diving cards. We boarded our plane and headed back to real life with a new list of remarkable memories.

My Sabah holiday did not just end there. The feeling of holiday rejuvenated everytime I start up my computer to work on this site. My holidays virtually extended for another 2 weeks.

You having a good time?
Looking back, it was one real holiday for me. Up the mountain today and down to sea the next. The smiles of Rungus and the tunes of Borneo's tip. The best of all, my girlfriend and 18 others. What else can you wish for more? I had a great time. Did you?

For those who have not been to Sabah, I hope that this log introduced you to the land of natural wonders. It's not hard to travel. All you need to do is to pick up your bag.

My sincere thank you to those who contributed to make this holiday a reality. I hope you enjoyed this travelogue as much as I enjoyed working on it. If you like my log, please let me know.
