Back to class - Diving in a classroom Tuesday 3rd Feb 2004

Chinese breakfast!
They say breakfast is the most important meal of all - and we understood the teaching. Dim sum at one restaurant behind our backpacker hotel was our first chinese food since we arrived.

First diving lesson
We meet Shane at 10.30am. We were suspose to meet him at 10 sharp but shit happens. We were then brought into a shop in Wisma Merdeka. We started with Shane giving brief introduction about our course - PADI Open Water Diving Course which will allow us to dive to the depth of 18 metres upon course completion. Our fundamental lesson was then being carried out by video. In between video, Shane will come in to emphasize the details. A couple of test was given along the way.

"Test!? - I never did any test since graduation years ago!!!"

"ArrrggHhHhh!!........"

Our class ended at 6pm.

Celebration @ Beach Street
After having our seafood dinner with some friend we meet while hiking up the mountain, we steered our steering and dashed to the happening beach street. By the time we reached there, the rest of the gang was already singing along with the live band.

I was tempted to get a few beer down but I was not allowed too as I will be doing my open water dive tomorrow. My maximum allowance was 1 beer. On the other hand, Kong Wai was trashed by the ladies and I had the honour to cheers the last beer before he went down completely.

Drunk
As the result of getting Kong Wai trashed, Alex and I had to carry the tall guy back to hotel. He finally puke when he reached his room. 10 glasses of beer went in and 10 glasses of beer plus dinner came out.

Valerie and I managed catched up some stories while playing cards in Angel's room. Angel finally knows how to play chor dai dee which were rare cause she declined learning that game for ages. The credit goes to Kong Wai who teached her the game at Pine Resort the day before.

The two of us left Angel's room at 1am and headed back to City Park Inn. Rest was required for our first open water dive >>
